
“In 1886, four German prospectors came from Montana and set up camp near what’s now known as the Snake River Overlook, but one member of the group murdered the rest at what became known as Deadman’s Bar.”
Prospector’s Mountain was named for the discovery of galena in Death Canyon, but the rest of the valley disappointed most visitors who hoped to strike gold.
