GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — It’s getting busy out there!
Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) hosted a record number of visitors in the month of May, according to preliminary numbers shared with Buckrail by the park. GTNP saw 366,252 recreation visits in the month, a 0.3% increase over the second-busiest May in 2021, which saw 364,876 visits.
Through May, the park is on track to see its second-busiest year with a total of 634,510 recreation visits. In 2021, GTNP hosted 647,062 visits between January and May, about 1.9% more than this year. Visitation records have been kept since 1929.
GTNP’s neighbor to the north also saw a record May. Yellowstone National Park hosted 570,272 visits, up 1% from last May when the park saw 566,363 recreation visits.
