JACKSON, Wyo. \u2013 Jackson Hole Children\u2019s Museum (JHCM) announced Ethan Lobdell as its new Executive Director.\r\n\r\nJHCM president Jenn Dawes said the organization is thrilled to welcome Lobdell to the museum.\r\n\r\n\u201cHe has over a decade of experience in the field of education here in Jackson; as a teacher, robotics coach, head of middle school and director of student and family experience,\u201d Dawes said. \u201cEthan\u2019s passion for our mission, his connections and commitment to our community, and his extraordinary skills in leadership and strategic-thinking make him a perfect match for JHCM at this time.\u201d\r\n\r\nLobdell has taught high school and middle school in the areas of science, computer programming, engineering, design, and math for the 15 years. He has served as the cross-campus Middle School Division Head, coordinating staff and students across two Teton Science Schools\u2019 campuses (Jackson, Wyoming, and Victor, Idaho). Concurrently, he was the Director of Student and Family Experience during the 2018-19 school year.\r\n\r\nLobdell has a degree in computer science and will complete his Master of Science in Decision Analysis next year.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe Jackson Hole Children\u2019s Museum has established itself as a valued community resource, providing critical educational services for our valley\u2019s children,\u201d Lobdell said. \u201cI am excited to join the organization during a time of capacity-building as the museum continues to search for a long-term home.\u201d\r\n\r\nOutgoing Executive Director Jean Lewis said, \u201cThe Jackson Hole Children\u2019s Museum has evolved to address some of Teton County\u2019s most pressing needs for children and families. The Museum\u2019s afterschool and summer programs offer high-quality, affordable out-of-school care for local working families. As a whole, JHCM promotes healthy families, positive development and creative thinking among the youngest members of our community. I am proud of what we have accomplished during my tenure and I look forward to a bright future under Ethan\u2019s leadership.\u201d\r\n\r\nDawes thanked Lewis for her leadership the past four and a half years.\r\n\r\n\u201cOn behalf of the board of directors and JHCM family, I would like to thank Jean for her passion, grace and significant contributions to this organization\u2019s growth and success.
