TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Winter weather is slowly creeping into the area, marking the imminent end of autumn in Jackson Hole.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer captured the transition along the tops of the Tetons near Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Buckrail meteorologist Alan Smith said this was the season’s first heavy snow in the mountains.
“Snow totals at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as of Wednesday morning included 13 inches at the Rendezvous Bowl Plot (9,580 feet), 10 inches at the Raymer Plot (9,360 feet) and 8 inches at the Mid-Mountain Plot (8,180 feet).”

Smith said that more snow could reach the mountains next week.
“The next storm system is projected to arrive around Tuesday, Oct. 10, or next Wednesday, Oct. 11, with valley rain and mountain snow possible.”
Photographer Jared Spieker also shared a gorgeous shot of the half-fall, half-winter gradient along the mountains.
