JACKSON, Wyo. — Community Safety Network will host a free workshop at the Teton County Library on Thursday, Oct. 5, focused on supporting victims of domestic abuse.
The presentation,”Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence 101,” will explain the dynamics of domestic violence and the best practices for supporting a friend, family member or coworker who has experienced abuse in their relationship.
Jackson’s Town Council declared October “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” earlier this week.
“The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that one million women are victimized by domestic violence each year, with less than half of all such crimes actually thought to be reported,” the council’s proclamation states.
The event will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the library’s auditorium. Attendees are encouraged to view the library’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month curated book display.
