JACKSON, Wyo. — Candidates jockeying for open seats on three nonpartisan boards stated their cases at a voter forum at the Teton County Library on Oct. 1.

The evening kicked off with four folks vying for three open seats on the Teton County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees. Candidates Stephan Abrams, Reade Dornan, Keith Gingery and Ashley Sinclair tackled questions regarding technology use, state funding, vouchers and more. See their conversation begin at 00:06:26.

The second set of candidates to take the stage were two of the three candidates hoping to hang onto their seats on the St. John’s Hospital District Board of Trustees. Pam Cutler and Katharine Conover-Keller discussed hospital finances, patient care goals and the proposed increase of the hospital district mill levy. See their conversation at 01:04:05 in the video above.

The final conversation allowed Teton Conservation District’s Board of Supervisors incumbent candidate Cate Watsabaugh to introduce herself. She’s one of four candidates vying for three open seats, and was the only person able to attend the forum in person. New candidate Lee Bauknight sent in a written statement for moderator Karen Jerger to read on his behalf. Teton Conservation District Executive Director Carlin Girard also participated in the conversation, taking the opportunity to explain the current ballot item proposing the continuation of the Conservation District tax. Their conversation begins at 01:16:45 in the video above.

These candidate forums are presented by the League of Women Voters of Wyoming, Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole News&Guide, KHOL Radio and Buckrail. Jerger moderated the conversation on behalf of the League, and questions were posed by Buckrail’s Monica Stout, KHOL’s Jenna McMurtry, and Jasmine Hall with the News&Guide.
