JACKSON, Wyo. — Keith Gingery is running for a fourth term on the school board, saying he wants to bring his experience and stability to the work while continuing to focus on student learning and curriculum. Gingery has served on the board for 12 years, and previously served five terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives. Gingery is also a Jackson Hole High School alumnus; he graduated in 1988.

Gingery told Buckrail that his central priority is protecting the Regional Cost Adjustment, which provides extra state funding to help the district pay teachers and staff amid Teton County’s high cost of living. Additionally he talked about work on staff housing, school security vestibules and the middle school math curriculum.

Looking ahead, he wants to address a decline noted in student performance during the transition between elementary and middle school, and then again from middle school to high school.

“We have a really good board, we really get along well together,” Gingery said in closing. “Twelve years on a board is quite a while, but there are some things I still need to get done.”

Gingery is vying for one of three available seats on the School Board. He runs against Ashley Sinclair, Reade Dornan and Stephan Abrams.
