JACKSON, Wyo. — A parent of two daughters in the Teton County School District, Ashley Sinclair is tossing her hat in the ring for School Board Trustee in the upcoming General Election. Her priorities center around technology use in schools and strengthening partnerships between families, teachers and the school district.
Sinclair became interested in the position as she began asking questions about screen time and technology use in the Teton County school system. She started a petition, which found that a lot of parents had similar questions regarding technology in schools.

“I can bring something valuable to the board: a current parent’s perspective, a willingness to ask questions, and a real interest in looking at the evidence behind the decisions we’re making,” Sinclair told Buckrail. Part of her platform is bringing the voices and concerns of parents to the board.
Teaching reading, writing, math and critical thinking to kids within the school system is also high on Sinclair’s priority list. “I want to make sure we’re relentlessly focused on kids mastering [those things],” Sinclair said.
There are three seats available for School Board Trustee. Sinclair runs against Reade Dornan, Keith Gingery and Stephan Abrams.
