JACKSON, Wyo. — Three seasoned candidates are competing for the three open seats on the St. John’s Hospital District Board of Trustees, including Katharine Conover-Keller.

Conover-Keller is running for another term on the board after she was appointed in January 2022 and then elected to the position later that year. Her resume includes 14 years at the helm of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, time as the executive director of Community Safety Network, and work with the Jackson Hole Community Counseling Center as a licensed clinical social worker. She hopes to remain on the board for another term to be able to continue working on the planned oncology center, a cause close to her heart.

“Unfortunately, throughout my tenure on the board, I’ve spent a lot of time as a patient,” Conover-Keller told Buckrail. “I have used the services of St. John’s Health in the last four years and I am very familiar with our providers and also more enthusiastic about their willingness to work for St. John’s. They have incredible expertise and deep compassion for their patients. We are very lucky.”

Conover-Keller also expressed her appreciation for current CEO Jeff Sollis and hospital leadership. She aims to continue providing support through fundraising efforts and financial stewardship, and through championing the goals laid out by the strategic plan.

“I feel very much a part of this community and I think our community hospital is an essential reason that we all can live here,” she said. “I don’t think we could live here without a hospital, and we are so fortunate to have a hospital of such a high caliber.”

The hospital board race is uncontested; three incumbent candidates (including Conover-Keller) are looking to hold onto the three open seats. Brent Blue and Pam Cutler also appear on the ballot. Election day is Nov. 3, and early voting is now open.
