JACKSON, Wyo. — Another gorgeous year of life in Jackson in the books!

As we bid adieu to all that was 2025, revisit some of Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer’s favorite shots from this year. First up: bears.

Team Buckrail lives for bear photos and stories. Never enough!

Next up, another of our favorite animal subjects: moose.

And we shan’t forget one of the undersung Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem species: the coyote.

In some instances, the scenic beauty of the surroundings threatens to upstage the excitement of a wildlife sighting. This sunset, though, seems to heighten the majesty of the grazing bison herd below.

Another photogenic favorite in the valley: Sheep Mountain (unofficially known as Sleeping Indian). Sulzer has captured the formation under changing skies and through changing seasons this year.

On the subject of changing seasons, Sulzer’s lens is expert, whether he’s capturing a single autumn-hued aspen tree or a fiery stand of them amid newly snowy evergreens.
