JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County and the Town of Jackson are requesting public comment on the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Draft Safety Action Plan and Community Streets Plan, which will help shape the future of transportation in Jackson Hole.

According to Teton County, both plans address the largest active transportation and safety challenges identified in the community, and will help determine how best to invest in roads and pathways. The draft plans have incorporated findings from over a year of community engagement, and the results of a safety analysis.

When complete, the plans will provide: a safety analysis with proposed safety strategies and prioritized projects; a mobility network to improve safety and access for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users; and revisions to roadway design standards.

Before plans are finalized, Teton County and the Town of Jackson are sharing key findings and collecting community feedback on the drafts throughout May. There are two opportunities to learn about the plans and share comments before the project team updates the final version:

  • The public is invited to the Community Open House on Thursday, May 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cloudveil Room at the Teton County/Jackson Community Recreation Center.
  • People can also visit the StoryMap survey to view key findings and share input. The survey is open through May 29.

“These plans help move the community closer to the shared transportation vision of safe and equitable mobility for all modes of transportation with the goal of a healthy environment, community and economy for current and future generations,” Teton County wrote in the announcement.
