JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Safe Streets for All (SS4A) project
team is asking for public feedback in an interactive StoryMap and Survey after community input was gathered last spring on ways to improve town infrastructure.
The SS4A Safety Action Plan will lay out a roadmap for safer, more connected streets and paths in Teton County. This multi-year planning effort will identify transportation investments and projects that benefit all members of the community, no matter how individuals get around.
“The project team will consider community ideas alongside safety data to make sure the Plan identifies the most significant needs across the region,” according to the press release.
According to a Teton County press release, SS4A has been working on safety analysis, reviewing community comments and developing a project vision and goals over the past several months.
“Using that feedback, the project team created an interactive StoryMap and Survey that aims to reflect the community’s experience moving through the Town of Jackson and Teton County,” the press release states. “The public is encouraged to review the StoryMap, take the Survey and leave feedback on whether it accurately identifies areas in need of improvement.”
The Safety Action Plan is expected to be complete in early 2025, after beginning in February 2024 by Teton County and the Town of Jackson. It will include the following:
- A thorough safety analysis with proposed safety strategies and prioritized safety
projects - A refined mobility network to improve safety and access for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users
- Recommended updates to development standards and policies
- Revisions to roadway design standards
The survey is open through Thursday, Nov. 21, and can be accessed here.
The SS4A project team also has a range of community engagement activities planned over the next several months, including focus groups in addition to the StoryMap and Survey. The aim is to reach as wide a cross-section of the community as possible, Teton County writes.
