JACKSON, Wyo. — Downtown construction crews will be shifting to new locations this week, bringing a closure to a stretch of South Cache Street for 10 days.

On Monday, Nov. 2, South Cache Street will close from its intersection with Broadway to the nearby alley between Pearl Ave. and Broadway. According to a Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) press release, this closure is expected to last 10 days while the street’s pavement is removed and new concrete pavement is poured and cured.

“In addition, WYDOT is performing work for the Town of Jackson to replace some curb and gutter, sidewalks, and install storm drain inlets on Broadway,” WYDOT Resident Engineer Bob Hammond said in a press release.

WYDOT has been working on two major infrastructure projects near Town Square this fall, installing new curbs, sidewalks and ramps that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Next spring, contract crews will return to Broadway to repair sections of concrete slabs from Jackson Street to Cache Street. At that time, they will also replace the remaining pedestrian street corners with “bulb-out” curb extensions and ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks.

Currently, all active construction, detours, and intersection closures are scheduled to remain in place until Nov. 21, when work will be suspended for the winter. June 15, 2027 is the anticipated completion date for the entire project.
