JACKSON, Wyo. — There have been a lot of traffic cones up in town and the surrounding areas this fall, and the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is continuing work on several projects around Jackson before winter shuts down construction.
On Broadway Ave., crews are replacing drain inlets, sidewalks and ramps at Cache, Glenwood and Millward streets, and a new traffic signal is being installed at the intersection of Millward St. and Broadway Ave. For now, there is a temporary signal up at that intersection.
Concrete work on Cache St. should wrap up this week, according to a WYDOT press release, and crews will move to Glenwood St. next week.
WYDOT reminds drivers that heavy and commercial vehicles should detour via North Jackson Street to bypass downtown construction. Closures and detours will stay in place until Nov. 21, when work will pause for the winter. Projects will be finished in the spring as weather allows.
Crews began work on WY22 on Monday, Oct. 19, installing delineators between Wilson and the salt sand shed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three nights. Drivers can expect lane closures and flaggers.
In the Snake River Canyon, paving will continue on the last two sections of US89 for the season from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next couple of weeks.
All schedules depend on the weather. Drivers can sign up for 511 Notify alerts at wyoroad.info.
