GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — While locals have missed seeing the massive snowman who typically appears every winter on Moose-Wilson Road, a humbler snowman who popped up in Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) might help fill the void.
Standing about three feet tall, a whimsical snowman welcomes recreators to wintery Taggart Lake, sporting evergreen branches for arms and two stick-antennae sprouting from its head.

While most of GTNP is closed to vehicles for the winter, the Taggart Lake trailhead is still accessible from the Moose entrance. Teton Park Road is groomed for on-snow activities three times per week, weather permitting.

Hikers on Sunday were treated to an intriguing cloud display over the Tetons.
