JACKSON, Wyo. — Voters are realizing how important the Democratic primary is for retaining experienced and trusted local leaders.
More and more democrats are realizing there are contested races in their own party and understanding how important their vote will be. Recent comments heard out on the campaign trail include “I’m surprised to hear that these positions are contested in this primary” and “I am committed to voting in my own party this primary as these are important local positions that directly impact me.”
Retaining a proven and trusted District Court Clerk is more important than ever. Three months into the next term the final phases of court modernization begin with the onset of electronic filing and the long-awaited transition to paperless court records. Anne Comeaux Sutton has been advocating and preparing for these changes and is serving as a District Court Clerk Subject Matter Expert on state committees staging for these implementations.
The global pandemic tested the District Court Clerk Office’s teamwork, ability to quickly pivot to address unanticipated challenges and changes and ability to innovate to maintain services during unprecedented times. The District Court Clerk’s Office succeeded on all fronts, maintained access and services (including curbside passport appointments when needed) and even increased efficiency and transparency (such as updating cross-training strategies and resources and posting the court calendar online).
Every database system used at the District Court Clerk Office has changed in the last five years: The case records management system, the jury management system, appointment scheduling, the portals to court records on the public access terminals, even the county’s website, timekeeper and budgeting programs. Comeaux Sutton and her team navigated each change with success. Her reputation as a strong team leader and someone who maximizes technology helped her convince the WY Supreme Court to speed up Teton County’s transition to electronic filing and paperless records.
Comeaux Sutton is a District Court Clerk who takes initiative to identify and meet community needs, who easily navigates technology change, and who prioritizes access and transparency.
Vote in this important Democratic Primary to re-elect your proven and trusted Clerk of District Court. Vote to Re-Elect Anne Comeaux Sutton and keep the momentum going.
