JACKSON, Wyo. — A stretch of Gregory Lane was evacuated and closed on Tuesday afternoon when construction crews hit and broke a gas line.

During the ongoing road work on Gregory Lane, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Battalion Chief Chris Stiehl told Buckrail that an excavator hit a gas line in the vicinity of Roadhouse Brewing Co. Teton County Emergency Management posted an alert to Facebook around 2:30 p.m. The road was closed and the immediate vicinity was evacuated because of the amount of gas leaking.

“Lower Valley Energy was on the scene quickly and capped the leak within 15 minutes of our arrival,” Stiehl said.

Lower Valley Energy took care of the leak and did not advise of any future gas outages linked to the incident.
