JACKSON, Wyo. – According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), US89 will close today, March 3, at 11 a.m. for avalanche mitigation at milepost 155.2 just north of the Dairy Queen in Jackson.
The reopening time of the road will be determined by the amount of cleanup work required. Weather conditions including reduced visibility and increased avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure.
Just yesterday, an avalanche covered three lanes on US89 south of Smith’s.
