WILSON, Wyo. — UPDATE: WYDOT and the contractor Ames Construction announced on Friday, March 1, that the removal of the concrete barriers on the Snake River Bridge, beginning at 11 p.m. on Monday, March, 4, could extend into Tuesday, March 5 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. March 6.

Weather and schedule changes could cause crews to continue to work Tuesday evening.

The construction was originally delayed until Monday evening due to the recent Winter Storm Watch for Teton County issued by the National Weather Service.

The overnight work will include removing the concrete barriers at the intersection of WYO 22 and WYO 390, and pothole repairs on the bridge. Crews still plan to repair the large pothole on the west end of the bridge that was not filled in last week, as well as address other potholing areas on the bridge, time allowing, according to WYDOT.

WYDOT said via press release that the removal and relocation of the concrete barrier will require multiple hours of work under a single lane closure with alternating traffic. WYDOT and the contractor have elected to perform this work after hours when traffic volumes are reduced to alleviate impacts on daytime traffic, as long as colder temperatures don’t force extended closures.

The concrete barrier, once removed, will be reset on Wednesday, March 6 in another area of the work zone.

WYDOT is recommending drivers be prepared for delays both Monday and Tuesday evenings. Traffic will be carried through the work areas at reduced speeds on a single lane under flagging operations.

Drivers are to obey all roadside signs, traffic control devices and closures. Information about the current work going on at the WYO 22 and WYO 390 intersection and Snake River Bridge can be seen here, and drivers can sign up for 511 Notify alerts.
