JACKSON, Wyo. — At their monthly joint meeting on Tuesday, the Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of County Commissioners announced the release of a request for proposals (RFP) for a multifamily developer at the 90 Virginian Lane property.

Proposals are required to outline a minimum of 150 homes for the local workforce. The deadline for submission is Feb. 2, 2024. A developer will be selected next spring, according to the announcement, with groundbreaking anticipated for the summer of 2025.

“This is a step toward developing a new, vibrant, mixed-income neighborhood in Midtown that will provide safe, stable, affordable homes for local workers and their families,” Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Director April Norton said via press release.

Per the Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority, the RFP seeks proposals that focus on sustainability and inclusivity, particularly those that “lean into multimodal transportation and provide mixed income units that are available to rent or own.” The full RFP can be viewed here.

“This is an ideal property for community housing, and I am excited to have reached this next step to request proposals from developers,” Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson said. “As our Comp Plan goal highlights keeping Town as the ‘Heart of our Region,’ it’s great to know there will be more housing for our community at this central location.”

The 5.15-acre parcel at 90 Virginian Lane, currently home to an RV park, was purchased by the Housing Authority using 2022 specific purpose excise tax (SPET) funding to expand workforce housing.
