JACKSON, Wyo. — This summer, families have ample opportunities for accessing free and healthy meals for their children.

Teton County School District #1 (TCSD) will be offering its Summer Meal Program for any child 18 years old or younger at Teton County Library (TCL) from June 17 through July 29. Meals will be distributed on Tuesdays each week between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We can distribute seven days of lunch meals and six days of breakfast per child,” TCSD wrote via press release. “If a parent plans to pick up meals for their child, the child will need to be present for the first round of meals being distributed.”

According to TCSD, no application is necessary, and all families are welcome.

Additionally, Hole Food Rescue (HFR) is providing its Sprout Summer Lunch Program, which will run from June 16 to August 22. The Sprout Mobile will distribute free lunches Monday to Friday at nine locations in the community. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the Sprout Mobile will park at Mike Yokel Park at 10:30 a.m., Powderhorn Park at 11:30 a.m. and Cottonwood Park at 12:30 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the schedule is TCL at 10:30 a.m., Phil Baux Park at 11:30 a.m. and Wayne May Park at 12:30 p.m.

“Free summer meals for Teton County youth are essential to nourishing kids so they are ready to grow and thrive,” TCSD Director of Food Services Danny Reed said in a statement.

According to HFR, on Tuesdays, families can access two services with one stop: HFR’s Sprout’s free lunches intended to be eaten that day, and TCSD#1’s free bulk breakfast and lunches, intended to be stored cold and last the whole week.

The Youth Summer Food Access calendar provides families with information on both programs.

“We encourage families to help us raise awareness of the Summer Food Service Program to the local community,” TCSD wrote.
