JACKSON, Wyo. — Folks will have to wait a little longer to ski down the town hill.

Snow King Mountain Resort has delayed its opening day due to warm temperatures, the resort confirmed to Buckrail. It was scheduled to open on Dec. 5.

Above-average November temperatures have been tough on snowmaking procedures at local ski resorts. Grand Targhee Resort has also delayed its opening day as a result of the lack of precipitation.

Snow King has had to adjust its schedule for similar reasons in years past. In 2022, though, favorable snow conditions allowed the resort to open a week ahead of schedule.

Resort Manager Ryan Stanley told Buckrail that certain amenities will open as planned on Dec. 5, including the scenic gondola and restaurant. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
