JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Unseasonably warm weather has hampered snowmaking efforts. Mother Nature hasn’t exactly been compliant, either. But thanks to enhanced snowmaking abilities and sheer determination, Snow King announced today it will open on Wednesday, December 6.
With a major national event scheduled for next weekend, it’s welcome news for many who are ready to hit the slopes or catch some air.
Resort reps stated today, “Due to unseasonably warm temperatures over the past couple of weeks, we are delaying opening day until Wednesday, December 6 to ensure we have a safe, good quality experience to kick off the season. The temps over the next week look awesome for getting more runs upon as well as making sure we have a great course for the ISOC Championship Snocross.”
Snow King is also offering a free skiing day on Friday, December 8 to kick off the snocross event taking place on Dec. 8-9.
