JACKSON, Wyo. — It was a frigid night atop Snow King for a double-header performance by Shwayze and Shaggy, but the musicians brought a burst of heat.
A rainstorm delayed the evening’s proceedings; gondolas were on hold for at least an hour due to lightning concerns.
Those brave enough to endure a little rain eventually made it to the stage, where Shwayze kicked things off.
He regaled attendees with his 2008 hit “Buzzin'” plus other crowd-pleasers like “Floatin'” and “Love Is Overrated.”
Headliner Shaggy got the crowd hyped with his signature tune, “Boombastic.”
“I didn’t expect this cold,” said Shaggy, who was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica.
Making his Jackson debut, Shaggy won the crowd over with his 2000 single “Angel.” Attendees in puffy jackets and beanies packed together tightly to stay warm, aided by an up-tempo dancehall sequence later in the set.
Shaggy and the band engaged with the audience a lot, calling all of the ladies to the front of the crowd.
“I did not come to Jackson for the weather,” Shaggy joked. “I did not come for the food. … I didn’t come to Jackson for the weed. … I came to Jackson for the women!”
Shaggy closed the night with “It Wasn’t Me.”
