JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole High School has a new track to go with the recently replaced turf fields.

Teton County School District #1 announced on Sept. 10 the closure of the track for resurfacing. The old orange track has since been replaced with a new black surfaced track.

Over the summer FieldTurfUSA worked to replace two practice fields and the William T. MacIntosh Stadium field. The project cost a reported 1.4 million dollars.

“The new turf has sand and rubber, so it’s heavier and plays more like natural grass,” Lisa Rosauer, FieldTurf USA regional construction manager told Buckrail in July. FieldTurf USA also used a broker to find a new home for the old turf being replaced, explained Rosauer.

The fields are expected to last 10-12 years depending on the amount of play on the fields.
