JACKSON, Wyo. — Riot Act, Inc. will hold auditions for its next production, “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennesee Williams, next month.

Everyone is welcome to audition. The six performances will run March 4-8 2020 on the main stage at Center for the Arts.

This show will involve choreographed stage violence and intimacy. Professional certified intimacy and fight director, Samantha Kaufman, will choreograph the intimacy and violence in a safe, comfortable way for the actors.

Please bring to auditions your schedule of conflicts including work schedule through March 8.  Rehearsals will not happen between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2.  Actors will only be called to rehearsal when needed for the scene(s) the cast is working on.

If you would like to schedule an audition time, please contact Riot Act, Inc. to do so. Otherwise please arrive at the beginning of audition times.  If you are not able to make auditions but still would like to audition, please contact us to set up another time. If you have a headshot and resume, please bring them.  If you would like to read the script before auditions, please let Riot Act, Inc. know.

About the play:

“The play reveals to the very depths the character of Blanche DuBois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject – so far as possible – the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores.  The pressure brought to bear upon her by her sister, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans, intensified by the earthy and extremely “normal” young husband of the latter, leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and, in the end, to madness.”
