JACKSON, Wyo. — The Rec Center’s gym, aquatics center and shower areas are closed from Feb. 4 through Feb. 26 due to construction.
The front desk, lobby and food cupboard will remain open during the closure.
Construction on the Rec Center began in June 2022 and is expected to take 20 months. The renovation and expansion project will include a new gym, elevated walking and running track, climbing gym, multi-purpose fitness studio, cardio studio, health consultation rooms, drop-in daycare, multi-purpose rooms, classrooms and study lounges. Outdoor projects include a zero-depth splash pad and patio, outdoor bouldering wall and outdoor playground.
On Monday, Feb. 6 during a joint information meeting, Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department Director Steve Ashworth briefed the Town Council and Board of County Commissioners on proposed fee increases for fiscal year 2024/2025. Public comment on the fee schedule is expected to open soon.
