JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Jackson Police say they are confident they have solved the case of a bank robbery in early February and the suspect is in custody.

Investigators for the Jackson Police Department are working closely with the FBI and Soda Springs Police Department on a case connecting Kevin M. Martinez, 37, to the robbery of Bank of Jackson Hole on February 4, 2019. A white male suspect demanded the contents of a teller’s drawer in that incident. He fled on foot and was never apprehended.
On March 25, 2019, the Ireland Bank in Soda Springs, Idaho was robbed in a similar manner. The suspect in that robbery generally matched the suspect’s description in the Jackson bank job. Officers from the Soda Springs PD were able to identify Martinez, who was later picked up on a warrant by the Unified Police Department in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 3.
Martinez has been extradited back to Caribou County, Idaho to face charges there. Charges for the Jackson robbery are pending, according to Lt. Roger Schultz of the JPD.
