JACKSON, Wyo. — A section of the community bike path will be closing, and a detour will be in place, beginning Monday, July 28, while construction crews continue road work on Gregory Lane.
The Town of Jackson Engineering Division issued an update for the Gregory Lane rebuild project on Friday, July 25, that stated the pathway closure and detour will be necessary to route bikers and walkers around the construction zone. Expect the pathway to remain closed while crews install new utilities in the vicinity. “Pathway closed” signage will be placed on the west side of the bike path’s junction with US89 (just south of Mad River Boat Trips) and at the junction adjacent to the Middle School sports fields.
“The schedule depends on a number of factors, including weather and material delivery,” the statement reads. “We will keep you updated on any major changes to the schedule as construction progresses.”
The detour will follow US89 and turn west on High School Road. The Town asks the public to obey the closure and detour signage, plan a little extra time for commutes in this area, and respect and avoid private property.

The upcoming week will see crews install new water and sewer services to private lots, as well as continue water main installation. Evans Construction will soon begin preparing the south end of Gregory Lane for a new street surface and sidewalks.
