JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson (TOJ) has shared planning details for its Gregory Lane rebuilding project, with construction expected to begin on Wednesday, May 7, and run through October before picking back up in 2026.

Evans Construction will take the lead on the project, which has been in the works for more than 20 years. In 2019, $8.5 million in SPET funding was allocated to the Gregory Lane project to address street, stormwater and sewer infrastructure.

According to TOJ, the project will renovate “this integral street above and below ground” with the addition of stormwater treatment systems, streetlights throughout the corridor, 6,350 feet of new stormwater pipes, 6,400 feet of new curb and gutter, 3,611 feet of new water main pipes, 3,700 feet of new sewer main pipes and 19,200 square feet of sidewalk.

Businesses on Gregory Lane will remain open through construction, per TOJ.

“This is the Town’s largest Public Works project to date, and the Town will do its best to coordinate with contractors, minimize disruption and notify neighbors and stakeholders about progress and what to expect,” TOJ’s press release reads. “The Town and its Public Works team kindly thank everyone for patience and understanding as we work to update and improve community infrastructure.”

Work in the area will be carried out in stages, beginning at the south end of Gregory Lane at the intersection with High School Road. Each stage is expected to take three to four weeks, TOJ said.

TOJ shared detailed documents about the project, accessible to the public here. A video explaining the project is available below:
