JACKSON, Wyo. — When the Jackson Hole Moose ended their season last March with a cancelation of the championship weekend against Sun Valley due to a little-known global pandemic just making the scene, who could have anticipated we would be starting a new hockey season still very much in the grips of COVID?

When the Moose hit the ice for their opener this weekend against the Bozeman Stingers, the on-ice event is expected to look like the same hard-hitting action that’s always packed ‘em in at the Snow King Sports and Event Center. The “pack ‘em in” part, though, is going to look drastically different.

Attendance at Moose games will be restricted to 250 pre-sold tickets. No walkup sales will be allowed.

Tickets will go on sale online beginning Tuesday, November 3, at 10 a.m. They will be limited to 6 tickets maximum per purchase. They are $20 each (no kids’ pricing, unfortunately). When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Attendance at the games will include county protocol and adherence to health orders. That means masks will be required when in the building unless eating or drinking. Seating arrangements will be made to encourage physical distancing.

There will be no band, but there will be local food vendors Pinky Gs and Moe’s BBQ and other refreshments available.

Above all, the Moose hockey organization wants to keep its fans safe and healthy while providing whatever kind of season they can. The 2020-21 schedule is filled out with 22 total home games through March 2021, providing plenty of opportunities for fans to catch the action live and in-person this winter.

Health orders and restrictions may ease at some point during the season to allow more fans in attendance but for now, caution rules the day.

Doors open at 7 p.m. game nights. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
