JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Moose hockey plans to return to the ice next month to begin the 2020-21 season. It’s early yet to determine how that season might look for home games as far as COVID precautions but the schedule was released this week and it features 22 home games from November 2020 through March 2021.

The Moose are scheduled to kick off the upcoming season on November 6-7 when they host the Bozeman Stingers. The season concludes March 12-13 with a weekend against Holy Cross.

The Moose will also host Park City, Denver, Sun Valley, Dallas, Portland, Washington State, Cleveland, San Francisco, and Vermont. Jackson Hole will also travel to play weekend contests with Sun Valley and Vail.

Moose general manager Howie Carruth said he is working with health officials to determine the safest way to host home hockey games that typically draw 1,200 or more to the Snow King Sports and Event Center on Friday and Saturday nights. It is likely some kind of lowered max capacity will have to be considered.

Efforts are also underway to deliver a live stream for those unable to attend.

Carruth has stepped aside as the team’s coach. Eric Ballard will take over behind the bench for the Moose.

The Moose finished the 2019-20 season with a record of 20-6. The final weekend against Sun Valley was canceled due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
