WYOMING — Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited (JHTU) is holding its 6th Annual Tie One On fundraising banquet and auction on May 10. The event supports coldwater fisheries in the Jackson Hole area. JHTU is the local chapter of Trout Unlimited, a grassroots nonprofit organization celebrating over 50 years of coldwater conservation with more than 158,000 volunteers organized into 385 chapters nationwide.

In preparation for the event, JHTU is seeking donations from Jackson Hole businesses to help raise funds for on-the-ground stream reconnection and restoration projects through our Snake River Headwaters Home Rivers Initiative.

Thanks to the generous support of the community, JHTU was able to launch this initiative in 2016. To date, the organization has completed three projects in 2017, and two projects in 2018—all in the Gros Ventre, Fish Creek, Hoback, and Salt River drainages. These initiatives have collectively reconnected five miles of habitat and restored 4.5 miles of river channel for native Snake River cutthroat trout.

Eight active projects are currently in development with the over 25 agency, nonprofit, and landowner partners. In addition, JHTU has educated 400 Jackson Hole Middle School 7th grade students about fisheries and watershed science through its Adopt-a-Trout program.

JHTU is grateful in advance for any consideration and would greatly appreciate a donation to this year’s Tie One On banquet from donors. Last year’s banquet raised in excess of $70,000.

Donor benefits include name recognition in the JHTU Tie One On banquet event website (online auction item entry with link to business), mention in the event program, event thank-you ad, and donor recognition in email blasts and social media posts.

JHTU will also provide appropriate donation receipts for tax records. To make sure donors are recognized in the event program, contribution(s) need to be made no later than April 15.

Donations can be made on-line or may be sent to Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited at PO Box 4069, Jackson, WY 83001. Donors can also call JHTU and have their donations picked up. Contributions to Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited are tax deductible (501c3 #521491981).

Also, along with your donation, don’t forget to mention whether you are planning to attend the 6th Annual Tie One On banquet at the Snow King Resort on May 10.
