JACKSON, Wyo. — What could be a better holiday gift than road construction wrapped up for the season with a bow?
Road work on Gregory Lane has concluded for the year, and the full length of the street is open and paved. In a Thursday update from the Town of Jackson (TOJ), Associate Engineer Jeff Silliman said that manageable weather last week allowed crews to install concrete curbs and pave street surfaces past the Teton County School District entrance.
“Despite a less than favorable forecast, the weather was unseasonably kind last week and we are very thankful for its cooperation,” Silliman wrote.
Since June, work has been completed from the south end of Gregory Lane to just north of the school district’s bus barn. Next spring, utility and road construction and sidewalk installation will continue north.
Construction crews will now clean up and demobilize for the year, removing traffic control devices, filling the backs of curbs with temporary gravel, and installing street signage. A new stormwater treatment unit is expected to be delivered and installed sometime after Thanksgiving. Though most of that work will take place off the roadway, TOJ said the unit is large and that staging of materials and equipment might be necessary.
Silliman signed off by saying: “Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout the season and happy holidays!”
