TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — The Grand Teton Music Festival’s Aug. 12 Festival Orchestra concert opens with Don Juan by Richard Strauss, followed by Jessie Montgomery’s Five Freedom Songs with soprano Julia Bullock and closes with Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Yefim Bronfman. Co-commissioned by GTMF, Five Freedom Songs was conceived between the composer and vocalist, who wanted to create a song cycle that honors their shared African-American heritage and the tradition of the Negro spiritual, while also experimenting with non-traditional stylistic contexts. The concert is conducted by Music Director Sir Donald Runnicles.

The Saturday, August 14 GTMF performance will be livestreamed at 6 PM with free digital access. Click here to register.
