JACKSON, Wyo. — With election season underway, Buckrail is helping break down the ballot ahead of the general election.
This cycle, one state senate seat is open for District 16, and all three seats representing Teton County in the House of Representatives are up for reelection. In each race, every incumbent is running uncontested.
Teton County sends two State Senators from Districts 16 and 17 to represent the constituents in the State Senate for four-year terms. Teton County also sends three State Representatives from Districts 16, 22 and 23 to serve two-year terms in the House of Representatives.
Senate District 16
Dan Dockstader (R) represents a total of 18,978 residents in the southern portion of Teton County and Lincoln County. Precincts include 1-1 South Jackson, 1-12 Southern Teton County/Hoback Junction, 4-1 Wilson South and 4-3 Wilson North.
Dockstader has served as District 16 Senator for over 15 years. He also served in the House of Representatives for District 16 from 2007-2008. This will be his fifth four-year term in the state senate. He is originally from Idaho Falls.

House District 16
Rep. Mike Yin (D) represents House District 16, which includes most of the town of Jackson, and includes precinct 1-2 East Jackson, 1-5-1 Mid Jackson and 1-6 West Jackson Cottonwood Park.
Yin is running for his fourth two-year term. He was first elected to represent house District 16 in 2019. He is currently the Minority Floor Leader. He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia.

House District 22
House District 22 State Rep. Andrew Byron serves a population of about 9,522 residents in the southern portion of Teton County. He represents precincts 1-1 South of Jackson, 1-12 South Teton County/Hoback, 4-1 Wilson South and 4-3 Wilson North.
This will be Byron’s second term. Byron was first elected by Teton County voters during the 2022 election, in which he also ran uncontested. Byron made a bid for a seat on the Board of County Commissioners in 2018 but was beat out by fellow Republican Mark Barron.
Byron was born and raised in Teton County, attending Wilson School, Jackson Hole elementary, Jackson Hole High School and the University of Wyoming, earning a B.S in political science.

House District 23
Rep. Liz Storer is currently serving her first term as House District 23 State Representative.
She represents precincts 1-3 Skyline/Hi-Country/Gros Ventre Butte,1-4 North Jackson, 1-5-2 Mid Jackson – Hillside,1-7 Rafter J, 1-10 Southeast of Jackson/East Hoback, 1-11 Indian Trails, 2-1 Kelly/Moose/Airport, 3-1 Moran and 4-2 Moose/Wilson Road.
Storer was elected by voters in 2022, beating her democratic contender in the primary, and republican contender in the general election. Andy Schwartz previously held the House 23 seat. Storer is married to current Teton County Commission Chair, Luther Propst. She is originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
