JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton Bouldering Park at Phil Baux Park will be closed temporarily from Wednesday through Tuesday, Sept. 10 to 16, for routine maintenance.
Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation (Parks & Rec) wrote via press release that staff and contractors will install fencing around the park before stripping the climbing boulders, repairing cracks and resealing the boulders.
“This important routine maintenance helps ensure the safety and integrity of the climbing features,” reads the statement.
The boulders will be reset with limited holds when it reopens to the public on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 17. A full reset of all the boulder holds is planned for later in the month. Times and dates are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
In other rock climbing news, Parks & Rec announced on Facebook that adult-only climbing hours have returned to the Community Recreation Center climbing gym. Those 18 and older are welcome to climb at the gym on Sunday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m.
