JACKSON, Wyo. — Fall weather is firmly taking hold in the valley.
A round of thunderstorms this week translated into a fresh dusting of snow atop the Grand Teton. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer glimpsed the stormy sight from WY390 on Thursday afternoon.
The first mountain snow of the season is arriving right on schedule, according to Buckrail meteorologist Alan Smith. On Wednesday, he predicted the snow line would hit between 12,500 to 13,500 feet; the Grand peaks at 13,775 feet.
The cold pattern is expected to continue through Saturday, dropping the snow line potentially as low as 10,000 feet.
