Avalanche mitigation test on Teton Pass tomorrow, closure at noon

WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has scheduled a short duration closure of WY 22 / Teton Pass for tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 12 p.m. to finalize and test its recently upgraded avalanche mitigation systems.

WYDOT predicts that the closure may last up to two hours. Parking closures at the summit of Teton Pass and Coal Creek will begin tonight at 8 p.m. and will be strictly enforced. Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly.

These upgrades will enhance traveler safety along the WY 22 / Teton Pass corridor.
