GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — Some wishes really do come true.
That includes 8-year-old Sammy’s wish to spend the day as a Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) ranger, which was granted through the Make-A-Wish program, the nonprofit that provides memorable experiences for kids with critical illnesses.

GTNP shared photos of Sammy’s special day on social media this week.
“Some people are just born to wear the hat,” GTNP posted.

“Ranger Sammy arrived already an expert on wildlife safety and eager to hand out maps and share fun facts with curious visitors,” GTNP posted. “Throughout the morning, she explored the many roles rangers play in the park.”
On the big day, Sammy learned from biologists how to use a tracking device to find a hidden GPS collar; explored law enforcement, fire and EMS vehicles and gear; helped lead a ranger program at a visitor center and “answered visitor questions like a seasoned pro,” GTNP shared.

“Thanks, Ranger Sammy, for all your help,” GTNP posted. “You made our day — maybe even our whole summer.”
