WYOMING — Amid myriad Fourth of July activities planned for this weekend, remember to look skyward on Saturday morning.
The Wyoming Air National Guard will conduct a “statewide salute” flyover across the state on July 4 to honor the nation’s semiquincentennial. Two simultaneous routes will be flown: the Jackson route and the Devils Tower route, with both converging in Cheyenne at the state capitol at 1 p.m.
“We are proud to mark this milestone by flying over communities across Wyoming on Independence Day,” said Col. Brian Diehl, commander, 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard, in the announcement. “It is a great opportunity for our wing to connect with the people we serve and celebrate 250 years of American independence together.”
The Jackson Route departs Cheyenne and travels west, then north. All times are approximate, according to the announcement:

“Residents are encouraged to gather at or near the listed locations to view the aircraft,” the announcement states. “No tickets or registration are required.”
For readers in the eastern half of the state: The Devils Tower route departs Cheyenne and travels north through northeastern Wyoming. All times are approximate:
