UPDATE: 1:50 p.m., Canceled. Traffic is open in both directions

JACKSON, Wyo. — The first heavy snowfall of the season is coming down in the region, creating dangerous driving conditions.

Wyoming Department of Transportation has closed both directions of US189 between Daniel Junction and Bondurant and between Bondurant and Hoback Junction due to winter conditions. The road closed at 11:22 a.m. The estimated opening time is unknown.

As of 11:15 a.m. there were multiple stalled semis, blocking the northbound lane at milepost 130 to 131.
