HOBACK, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has announced two planned closures on Saturday, March 2, for avalanche mitigation purposes.

Teton Pass, WY22 between Wilson and the Idaho State Line, will be closed at 2 a.m. for avalanche control.

There will be no parking at the summit of Teton Pass and Coal Creek beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly.

WYDOT has also scheduled a closure of US 191/189 through Hoback River Canyon on Saturday, March 2 at 2 a.m. for avalanche mitigation.

The storm moving through the area over the next few days is forecasted to include high winds and heavy snow. Highway travel will be difficult and avalanche control operations may close highways with little to no notice between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon due to changing conditions.
