JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) issued a travel alert at 11:54 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, encouraging no unnecessary travel on US 26/89/191 between Jackson and Moran.

US 26/89/191 between Jackson and Moran is the road connecting Jackson to the national parks and Jackson Hole Airport. According to WYDOT’s Travel Information Map, conditions on the road are “slick, drifted snow with snowfall, blowing snow.”

A significant winter storm has arrived in the valley, with snow accumulations expected to reach 6 to 10 inches in Jackson Hole over the next 24 hours. The National Weather Service noted in its storm warning that travel would be difficult. Drive safely and keep extra supplies in the vehicle if driving is absolutely necessary.
