WILSON, Wyo. — The Wilson Boat Ramp will be closed to river users beginning Monday, Sept. 18, according to the Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation Department (TCJPR).
The ramp will be considered an active construction zone after that date, disabling all access for the launching or unloading of watercraft.
Construction work will include grading, asphalt work and ramp plank installation. The project is expected to be complete by the spring of 2024.
“Contractors anticipate completion of the work by the middle or end of October,” the TCJPR’s press release said. “If there is an opportunity to provide late season access, dependent on weather, the Department will do so after construction is complete…We are excited to get the project completed so the community can begin the 2024 season
with a new more functional facility.”
Costing just shy of $1 million, the ongoing construction project includes the paving of the access road, a portion of the levee and the construction of a one-way loop. A series of pathways and an informational kiosk will also be built. Twenty-eight parking spots including two ADA-compliant spots will be painted on the roadway.
New bathrooms next to the ramp opened to the public in August.
