JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, Town Councilors unanimously approved the development plan for the Virginian Lodge apartment project at 750 W. Broadway Ave. The project will result in 32 new market-rate units — intended to serve primarily as employee housing — on the property. Eight of those will be two-bedroom apartments, and the remaining 24 will be studios.

In January, the Design Review Committee (DRC) asked for the proposed buildings to have a more human-centered design, after which the applicant updated the plans to have a redesigned U-shaped courtyard to improve the open space.
Discussions took place about a pathway connector between Virginian Lane and Karns Meadow Drive, but were omitted from the project because it is contingent on the development at the neighboring 90 Virginian Lane land.
While adjacent to the property, the Virginian Lodge apartments are a separate, privately-funded housing project.
The plan was approved and lauded by councilors for being a model for the development process.
“We don’t always get to celebrate that, so thank you,” Mayor Arne Jorgensen said at the Town Council meeting on Monday.
