Traffic stop yields a whopping 800 lbs of marijuana

IDAHO – Idaho State Police is reporting a seizure of more than 800 pounds of pot after a recent traffic stop on Interstate 15 in Clark County.

On December 15, at approximately 7:30pm, Idaho State Police conducted a traffic stop on I-15 near milepost 167, north of Dubois in Clark County.

Jonathan D. Speckman, 37, of Hainesville, Illinois, was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop an ISP K9 drug dog detected the presence of drugs. A search warrant was issued for the pickup and trailer

The search resulted in the seizure of more than 800 lbs. of marijuana. The value of the marijuana is estimated at over $3 million dollars.

Speckman was booked into the Clark County jail for Trafficking Marijuana. He is being held on $100,000 bail. ISP assisted in this investigation headed by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
