Town’s finance director Kelly Thompson recognized for award

JACKSON, Wyo. – The town’s finance director Kelly Thompson was recognized this month as the recipient of the Value Jackson award.

Last month’s Value Jackson employee, Officer Brian Morris, presented the award and explained that Thompson’s dedication, attention to detail, and outstanding responsiveness were just some of the reasons why he nominated the finance director for the award.

Under Thompson’s leadership, the Town of Jackson’s Finance Department was recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by government and its management.

Thompson has also instrumental in the Town’s implementation of a priority-based budget.
