JACKSON, Wyo. — With the second season of construction underway on Gregory Lane, the Town of Jackson (TOJ) has shed some light on the impact of this project and reminded the community that businesses in the area are still open.
The below and above-ground rebuild, which is the largest public works project TOJ has undertaken, is anticipated to continue through November. TOJ is working toward the final goal of rebuilding and replacing infrastructure as well as adding sidewalks to the busy corridor near local businesses and schools.
Gregory Lane has been milled between V-O Lane and the Teton County School District stadium entrance. A Tuesday update from the TOJ Engineering Division stated that the newly installed sewer main has reached the Martin Lane intersection. Starting today, sewer installation will continue north, which effectively closes the area to through traffic. Martin Lane can be accessed from the south end of Gregory Lane. Crews are continuing concrete work on the south end for sidewalk construction.
This SPET-funded project will add 19,200 square feet of sidewalks when completed, as well as 6,400 feet of curbs and gutters; 6,350 feet of stormwater infrastructure; 3,611 feet of water main pipes; and 3,700 feet of sewer main pipes.
“Crews are starting with updates to and adding new sewer pipes and infrastructure and then will do the same for water pipes,” TOJ wrote. “Stormwater and road construction will follow as final steps of each section. Simultaneously, crews are also working on the sidewalk on the east side of the road toward High School Road and on the west side toward the stadium and will eventually construct a raised crossing.”
TOJ reminded the community that businesses on Gregory Lane are still open during the construction, and encouraged people to continue to support the local companies in that area.
