TETON VALLEY, Ida. — The Teton County, Idaho Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is warning residents of a scam circulating on Facebook about discounted tires.

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect is offering discounted tires on Facebook and selecting nearby tire shops and buying them with stolen credit cards. TCSO is working to notify local tire shops, and most are no longer taking credit card numbers over the phone.

“If the discount sounds too good to be true, it probably is,” TCSO said on Facebook. “Please be diligent about your purchases to prevent being out costs as well as tires.”
